DESPITE record rains, water bills could rise by as much as 15 per cent by 2013 to cover the cost of newly built desalination plants, it emerged this week.

Had it not been for the weather, which has filled reservoirs to more than 84 per cent capacity, the Water Development Department may have had to leave three pricey desalination plants running, as it is, only the Larnaca plant is running, at around half capacity.

Nifty Thrifty opened its door to customers in the village of Oroklini Larnaca, since then they've had dozens of people bringing in all sort of goods which they can sell.

The shop is located at the top end of the village, just down from the Digital Clock, next to the local barbar & around the corner from the Co-Op bank.
